Fuel Tank Rib Sealing (Fuel Tanks)
1.5 Hours

Previous - Index - Next

Tonight, I clecoed the fuel tank ribs back together in preparation for rib sealing. The tank needs to be put together to hold the right shape during riveting.

After a short introduction to shooting rivets, Emily helped me rivet the outboard-most interior rib in place.

She did a great job and the results looked great. This rib is pretty easy to buck because you can remove the outboard rib for access. I'm not looking forward to doing the other interior ribs, since I'll have to reach down into the tank with the bucking bar.

I hope to have the interior ribs done at the latest by Saturday. I may have this tank buttoned up by the end of the weekend. Then I'll find out if it leaks...
