Primers (Miscellaneous)

Previous - Index - Next

After doing some experimenting with the Mar-Hyde and reading online about some possible formula changes, I decided to grab some Sherwin Williams GBP-988 for comparison. After a lot of calling around, I realized that an auto parts store right here in Berrien Springs supplies the Sherwin Williams Auto products. They ordered a can for me and it should be here tomorrow.

I'm hoping to prime and rivet the HS & VS this weekend. I still need to disassemble the VS, debur all of the holes I drilled, and edge-prep the spars and skins. After my trouble wrapping the skin around the nose ribs, I might also do some trimming of the fore parts of those ribs to ease the fit. All of my maneuvering caused some scratching of the alclad in the inside nose section of the skins. Once I've got it apart I'll decide if it's bad enough that I need to prime over those spots on the skins.
