Instrument Panel Drilling (Forward Fuselage)
3.0 Hours

Previous - Index - Next

Today, I worked on drilling holes in the instrument panel for switches. I used my drill press.

It's fun to install switches and play at flipping them back and forth.

Plenty of space on the back.

I kept installing more switches, including the starter button.

I also installed the cabin heat control temporarily just to see how it fits.

I installed all of the switches... I was kind of annoyed that I wasn't able to perfectly line up all the holes with my lines. Honestly, though, it will be really hard to notice later, so I need to let that go. You can see that I also started cutting out the panel for the GDU 460 Garmin G3X MFDs and a center hole for the round G5 cut-out.

A side shot to demonstrate that my holes aren't perfectly aligned. There is a little play in the switches that I can use to line them up better if I really want, but again, I don't think anyone will notice.

Of course now I need to take all of these switches out so I can keep working on this thing.
