My propeller arrived today. It's a Whirl Wind 300 series 72" constant speed three blade composite propeller. It's very light (36 lbs) compared to the metal CS props.

It also comes with a finished carbon fiber spinner.

I put the first coat of primer on the wheel pants and one of the gear legs. These will need some sanding/filling and additional coats.

I wanted to start planning the electronics layout behind the panel, but I don't have any of the avionics yet, so I made some very crude mock-ups out of cardboard. Here's everything from the instrument panel where it sticks back toward the sub panel.

Here are the G3X "LRU" mockups.

Here's one possible layout with the GSU 25, GEA 24, and GAD 27 on the left side and the GAD 29 on the right. I'm not sure where I'll put the backup battery, but it may go on the back of the sub panel. I'm considering moving the transponder (GTX 45R) to aft of the baggage area since this space is pretty crowded.

It's important to block off the top 1.75" of the sub panel because the forward part of the tip up canopy comes down that far.

A key thing in all of this planning is to make future servicing or upgrades less painful. Anything between the panel and subpanel is easy to access with the tip-up canopy, but anything between the subpanel and firewall is much more difficult to get to.
