I bought a stainless steel heater vent to replace the aluminum one from Van's and swapped them out. This should give more protection in the event of an engine fire.

I also filled a bunch of little pinholes in the wheel pants that are now easy to see with the primer on them.

I spent most of the afternoon finding a Harbor Freight with a 1 ton engine hoist in stock. Then I opened the engine... it's a beauty.

I had to lever the engine pallet up onto some wood blocks to get the hoist under it, but that was pretty straight forward.

I transferred it to one of my very sturdy work benches. It's easier to install a few fittings and the governor on the accessory case while it's off the mount. I'll start that work tomorrow.
