Cowl Hinge Prep, Fiberglass Work (Firewall Forward)
2.0 Hours

Previous - Index - Next

I cut out this section of hinge eyes. This is where you reach through the oil door to install or remove the upper cowl hinge pins.

I prepped the hinge pins for each side.

I trimmed the forward ends of the horizontal hinges and carved out a little trough for the pins to go forward through the cowl.

Then I did some fiberglass layups on the outboard sections of the inlets where they are mismatching.

I also trimmed and bent the lower cowl vertical hinge pins.

Some more inlet layup.
