Rudder Leading Edge, Airbox Mount Riveting, Oil Cooler Mount
(3.0 Hours Firewall Forward, 1.5 Hours Rudder)
4.5 Hours Total

I rolled the leading edge of the rudder and got it riveted.

I received the replacement piece from Van's for the airbox mounting brackets and got that trimmed and all of them riveted in place. I added RTV to seal up the corners.

Then I started working on the oil cooler mounting location on the firewall. I trimmed some thick angle pieces to length and marked a line on the firewall where I wanted the upper angle to be. I predrilled holes in the angle and then drilled it to the firewall. I then marked and drilled #12 holes for the bolts holding the angle to the cooler.

Then I drilled the lower angle piece to the oil cooler.

I then installed it back on the firewall and marked it.

Then drilled holes in the angle, remounted to the firewall, and drilled into the firewall.

This is pretty secure here, although I may tie a little support from the oil cooler to the engine mount to support the other end.

I am going to create a fiberglass diffuser to distribute air to the cooler routed from the aft baffles via 4" sceet tubing. First I need to create a mould.
