Alternate Air Door, Baffles (Firewall Forward)
6.5 Hours

Previous - Index - Next

I installed the alternate air door on the mount.

There was some interference from the cylinder #2 oil return line, so I notched the alternate air door as much as I could. It opens pretty well, but not completely. In the remote event that I need alternate air, this should be sufficient.

I spent many hours just working my way around the baffles, drilling holes to #30 and doing some riveting here and there. I also edge prepped all of the baffle pieces while I was at it. I riveted the line of rivets on the aft left corner.

More drilling and riveting.

I prepped and riveted the right inlet floor all together and then routed the prop oil line through a grommet back to its destination.

I did the same on the left front inlet floor. There are some shop heads sticking up here because the underside rivets needed to be flush for the airbox brackets.

I also installed the heated air intake from the right front inlet floor. It has a screen and a flange.

The underside...

Here's the rough routing from the inlet to the heat muff on the #1 exhaust pipe.
