Baffle Installation, Oil Cooler Install (Firewall Forward)
6.0 Hours

I notched the inboard filter retaining clip to clear the attachment angle from the vertical baffle pieces.

I riveted the right rear corner of the baffles together and installed the final hardware. I also safety wired the oil dipstick tube to the engine.

Then I installed the safety wire to hold the cylinder wraps tight. I used light aluminum tubing to prevent chafing per the instruction.

And here's the left side.

Then I installed the oil cooler and diffuser with their permanent bolts. I also ended up using a small piece of scrap steel to tie the free end of the oil cooler to the engine mount. The whole thing is rock solid now.

I used these spacers I had purchased a while back from ACS to keep everything tight between the oil cooler flanges. There are 3 on each side.

Then I installed the hoses between the engine and the oil cooler. Remarkably the hoses that came with the firewall forward kit worked even though my oil cooler is on the firewall rather than the baffles. This is the line from the cooler to the engine.

And this is the line from the engine to the cooler.
