Baffles, eMag Cooling, Electrical Routing, Control Cables (Firewall Forward)
5.5 Hours

I installed more blind rivets on the air seal material at the front.

Then I started working on the cooling blast tubes for the emags (ignition systems). I cut the requisite hole in the baffle and then installed the plastic nylon tubing. I used a trick I read about on VAF to run some safety wire through the tube and around the circular part of the emag to hold it pointing in the right direction. I also used some RTV to help hole the tube in place next to the engine mount.

Here's the engine side.

And the left side...

Then I spent quite a while planning routing for wires on the engine side of the firewall. Specifically: starter, alternator, and ground wires. Then I ordered supplies from SteinAir.

Then I started working on the control cables. I drilled holes in the mounting bracket and then ran the throttle cable up through the firewall. I installed it to the throttle lever on the throttle body with the appropriate hardware and spent a while getting it rigged correctly. I installed heat shields on the exhaust near the cable. I will also install some fire sleeve on the cable to try to prevent early failure/breakdown from the nearby heat.

Here's the cockpit side of things. I haven't decided if want to mount them under the panel like this or on the panel under the radio stack.

I installed the mixture cable in its spot.

And routed it through to the throttle body. Still need to install its hardware.
