Tailwheel Spring Install, Alternate Alternator Install (Firewall Forward)
3.0 Hours

I installed the tailwheel spring and assembly for the final time today. This included torquing all the bolts and lubing the cylinder with WD-40.

Then I got to work installing my B&C backup alternator onto the vacuum pump pad on the engine's accessory case. First, I needed to wire up the plug on the right PMAG, since the connector sits right under the vacuum pad. So I did that, installed the plug, and resized to a smaller Adel clamp on the PMAG.

Then I removed the vacuum pad cover, installed a new gasket, and slid the alternator onto the pad. The big problem here is that one of the bolts is down between the alternator, oil filter, and PMAG. It's very difficult to get to that bolt. It was hard enough just getting the washers and the nut on the stud, so I left it there for tonight.
