(2.0 Hours Rudder, 0.8 Hours Vertical Stabilizer)
2.8 Hours Total

I moved the eye bolts from the old rudder to the new and set their depth and then attached it to the VS. It is quite a bit smaller than the RV-9 style rudder I built initially.

I trimmed the VS tip and then drilled the rudder top tip. The two tips do not line up very well.

So I cut the top off of the VS tip and then laid up some new fiberglass. This should bring it down to the height of the rudder tip.

I fit and drilled the rudder bottom tip to the rudder. I have some cleanup to do on the cut-outs for the rudder cable brackets. That will all be hidden by the time I'm done with it.

I cut off the bottom of the lower tip (I did the same on the old rudder) to increase clearance to the tailwheel spring. I added some clear packing tape.

And then laid up 4 layers of fiberglass to cover the hole.

Finally, I drilled the top tip holes to 1/8" and countersunk/dimpled them.
