Here's the VS tip after some sanding, with the new fiberglass section visible. And the bottom of the lower rudder tip after some sanding. I'll fill this with epoxy/micro to even it out. And then I fabricated and installed a mounting plate for the tail light on the aft end of the lower rudder tip. This is exactly what I had done on the other rudder. I bonded it with epoxy/flox and six blind rivets. The small holes are tapped for 4-40 screws. And here with the light installed as a demonstration. While I had the epoxy/flox mixed up, I bonded and riveted the rudder top tip. Then, I reinstalled the rudder and set the spacing to the VS tip. You can see how much better the two tips match in height after the modification to the VS tip. I didn't take a picture, but I then bonded a piece of thin plywood to act as the filler for the aft end of the VS tip.
