Retrofitting new Flap Motor Kit (Center Fuselage)

The old style flap motors are no longer manufactured, so Van's has released a new kit for a new style linear motor that has included position sensing. I had previously installed a position sensor, but I like this all-in-one system, so I went ahead and bought it.

First step: remove all of the old flap motor braces and covers.

New parts drilled, countersunk, dimpled, and primed.

Here's everything put back together, with the new motor in place. You can see the little metal strap I attached to the flap weldment for my old position sensor. I'll just leave this on there since it's riveted in place.

The new motor also doesn't need the safety wire that the old one did.

Still need to paint the braces and the cover skins.
