So yesterday when I made the hole for the G5, I used a 3.25" hole saw rather than the specified 3.125". This meant the attach holes for the screws had very little edge distance to the big hole in the middle. The G5 is light and it still felt very solid, but I wanted to fix it before moving on.

I made a ring shaped support bracket out of scrap panel material. I made a 3" hole in it and filed it slightly to get the G5 to fit. I match drilled the screw holes into the bracket and then riveted it to the back of the panel. It's probably overkill, but I don't have to worry about it anymore.

I trimmed the flange of the angle piece that overlapped with the oil cooler control cable hole to the side of the G5 cut-out, but I didn't take a pic. I also cut holes for the TO/GA (take-off/go-around) button above the throttle and the seat heater switches on the right lower side of the panel.

Then, I cut out a hole on the right side of the panel for the ELT remote panel.

I started cutting a hole for a USB charger underneath, but still need to finish sizing it.
