Expanded Subpanel Cutout, Finished GMA245, GTR 205x, Started GAD 29 (Electrical)
10.0 Hours

I started today by disconnecting everything and removing the panel so I could get access to expand the subpanel cutout.

I extended the cutout downward all the way to the doubler plate for the control cable supports. This gives plenty of space for the wires from the GMA 245 connectors to make their turn without touching metal.

Then I finished the other connector on the GMA 245. I verified the pilot mic and the CAN bus were working. The G3X talked to the audio panel without trouble.

Then I did all of the wiring for the GTR 205x radio, including the coax to the antenna.

I had to update the G3X software to get it to talk to the radio over the CAN bus, but otherwise everything works well. I tuned in the local airport CTAF and listened to some planes in the pattern.

I also wired the power/network connector on the GAD 29. This is the last internal node on the CAN bus (yay for no more CAN bus splicing) and the last node overall other than the wing autopilot servo. I will remove this CAN bus terminator once the wings go on.
